ABSTRACT

The purpose of thisstudy was to validatethe reliability of test-retest fortransientevokedotoacoustic emission (TEOAE) suppression with alternating technique. TEOAE suppression was measured in 18 adults (11 males；7 females) with normal hearing and the alternating technique was used for recording the TEOAE with and without contralateral noise. Results as followed. Contralateral noises of 40, 60 dBSPL reduced TEOAE amplitude except for 50 dBSPL. And correlation coefficients of TEOAE suppression with the contralateral noise of 60 dBSPL was .642 and the reliability of test-retest was so good. Therefore this study showed that TEOAE suppression with alternating technique is reliable and useful test to measure the contralateral suppression and could solve the problems related to the probe system and environmental condition.
