ABSTRACT |
One of the most common complaints of hearing aid wearers was occlusion effect (OE). OE was mainly caused by increasing low
frequencies gain at the ear drum and it could be reduced effectively by installing vent at the side of hearing aid shell. However, when
typical venting was not possible due to the small size of ear canal, OE could be reduced by air pressure control near by ear drum especially
in CIC type of hearing aids. Air pressure could be reduced by making approximately 0.6 mm hole at near the receiver tube in
the hearing aid. This report was for the cases where OE were managed through air pressure control in external auditory canal. |
