ABSTRACT
This study performed an epidemiologic investigation of several cases of work-related hearing loss that fell short of acoustic trauma. The cases addressed in this study included sudden deafness, sensorineural hearing loss by noise, and hearing loss mixed with middle ear diseases. In some cases, sensorineural hearing loss was found in workers whose working environments were unchecked or had noise levels estimated to be 85 dBA and less. The levels of exposed noise were unknown in most cases in this study. Moreover, there was a lack of data because most patients did not have regular hearing tests; thus, we only had the most recent test results of theirs. Nevertheless, this study revealed that the patients were exposed to high levels of noise at work and discovered the correlation between hearing impairment and noise exposure.
Key Words: Hearing loss, Noise, Noise induced hearing loss(NIHL), Sensorineural hearing loss, Sudden deafness.
중심단어: 감각신경성 난청, 난청, 돌발성 난청, 소음, 소음성 난청.
